Mohd Zaki Al-Hassan bin Mohamed Amran, was appointed as Deputy General Manager in January 2022 and holds a Bachelor (Chemical Engineering) degree from UMIST (University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology), UK in 1996. He first joined SHSB in 1998 as a Shift Superintendent in the Production Section at Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant (SSP1). He was responsible for the optimum operation of SSP1 with regards to the chemical and energy consumption of the plant.
He was later in year 2000 appointed as Operation and R&D Engineer under Production Section expanding the roles for research and development for SSP1 operations. Several key areas involvement in the operation of SSP1 were ensuring compliance of water quality to the standards, optimum operation of large pumps, chemical and energy consumptions of the plant, performing large pumps performance testing, calibration of dosing pumps, performing tests on new chemicals, online streaming current detectors, one of key members for development of Quality Management System and Emergency Response Planning procedures.
In year 2006, he was appointed as Assistant Manager (Operations) assisting Plant Manager for overall daily operation of the Plant and to comply with relevant contractual and statutory requirement. Meeting with relevant government agencies and related parties for sharing information and related matters were part of the responsibilities during the period. He has been appointed as Plant Manager in 2011 and as Senior Manager (SSP1) in 2018. Now he is holding the post as Assistant General Manager and being fully responsible for overall operation and maintenance of SSP1.
